It's a lazy, rainy, jazz-listening, reading day.
I popped open a can of commercial vegetable soup, made with barley (maintaining this blog's beer focus). It was labeled as "Vegetarian Vegetable Soup". How deliciously redundant!
I was once offered crab as my vegetarian option at a restaurant: "It's a vegetable," the waiter insisted.

Speaking of Chick Corea, the "jazz rock" supergroup Return to Forever plays Merriweather August 4 with their amazing original lineup (Corea, Stanley Clarke, Al Dimeola, Lenny White). Although my tastes have changed since I wore out the grooves on "Romantic Warrior" nearly 30 years ago, I plan to be there.
