- Brewmaster Mitch Steele opened brewpub New Realm Brewing in early 2018, adjacent to Atlanta's fashionable Beltline walker/biker trail. Steele, the chair of the [U.S.] Brewers Association Supply Chain subcommittee, is well known as the longtime past brewmaster for Stone Brewing of California, one of the nations' largest 'craft' breweries. He is the author of a 'textbook' on the popular IPA (India Pale Ale) beer style, succintly entitled, IPA. Whereas many brewpubs, nationwide, are struggling in competition with proliferating brewery taprooms, New Realm appears to be thriving; Steele and his partners opened a second location in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in late 2018, in the former plant of Green Flash Brewing. Both locations also comprise off-the-premises production facilities.
